Child Safety Standards

1. Scope and Definitions

These Child Safety Standards describe NorPal's rules and practices for preventing and responding to child sexual abuse and exploitation across the NorPal services.

For these standards, a child or minor is any person under the age of 18.

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) includes content or conduct that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child, including grooming, sextortion, sexual trafficking, sexual solicitation, or other predatory behavior.

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) includes any visual depiction, including photos, videos, illustrations, or computer-generated imagery, involving a child in sexually explicit conduct or otherwise depicting the sexual abuse of a child.

2. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Users may not use NorPal to create, upload, send, store, request, distribute, promote, or facilitate:

• CSAM or any content depicting or promoting the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child.
• Grooming or attempts to build trust with a child for a sexual or exploitative purpose.
• Sexual conversations, sexual requests, or sexual solicitation involving a child.
• Sextortion, threats, coercion, or blackmail involving real or alleged intimate content of a child.
• The sexualization of children or content that portrays a child in a sexually exploitative manner.
• Child trafficking, including advertising, offering, requesting, or facilitating a child for sexual exploitation.
• Requests for, links to, instructions for obtaining, or attempts to exchange CSAM.
• Attempts to arrange sexual contact or an unsafe meeting with a child.
• Any other content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child.

These prohibitions apply to all NorPal features, including profiles, profile photos, messages, group chats, communities, events, invitations, comments, uploaded media, links, and any other user-generated content.

3. How to Report a Child Safety Concern

NorPal provides in-app reporting tools that users can use to report profiles, messages, content, or behavior that may involve child abuse, exploitation, grooming, CSAM, or another child safety concern.

Use the available Report option on the relevant profile, message, conversation, event, community, or content. Select the closest available reason and provide any helpful details.

You may also report a child safety concern to support@norpal.co .

Include the relevant username, profile, message, event, community, approximate date and time, and a description of what occurred. Do not forward, download, reproduce, or attach suspected CSAM. Instead, identify where the content appeared so it can be reviewed safely.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement immediately. An in-app or email report to NorPal is not a substitute for emergency assistance.

4. How NorPal Responds

NorPal reviews reported child safety concerns and takes appropriate action based on the available information, these standards, and applicable law.

Actions may include:

• Removing or disabling access to prohibited content, including CSAM, after NorPal obtains actual knowledge of it.
• Restricting, suspending, or permanently terminating accounts involved in child sexual abuse or exploitation.
• Limiting access to features or preventing further contact between users.
• Preserving relevant account or technical information when required for safety, investigation, or legal compliance.
• Cooperating with valid requests from law enforcement or competent authorities.
• Reporting confirmed CSAM or other reportable child exploitation matters to the appropriate regional, national, or international authority when required by applicable law.

NorPal may take immediate protective action when necessary to reduce risk to a child or prevent further distribution of prohibited material.

5. Legal Compliance and Reporting to Authorities

NorPal complies with applicable child safety laws and regulations. We maintain a process for escalating confirmed CSAM and other legally reportable child exploitation matters to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional or national authority, as required by applicable law.

We may preserve and disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect a child, prevent harm, investigate suspected violations, respond to lawful process, or support an authorized child safety investigation.

6. User Responsibilities

Every NorPal user must follow these standards and applicable law. Users should immediately report suspected CSAE, CSAM, grooming, sextortion, child trafficking, sexual solicitation, or other behavior that may endanger a child.

Users must not save, copy, share, forward, or redistribute suspected CSAM, including for the purpose of reporting it. Report the location of the material through NorPal's reporting tools or to the appropriate authorities.

NorPal may update these Child Safety Standards to reflect changes in our services, enforcement practices, safety measures, or legal obligations. The updated date at the top of this page will show when these standards were most recently revised.
